  1. The help


This movie shows the reality in 1963 in  Jackson, Mississippi. It focuses on the stories of black maids and their white’s houses where they worked. In this movie, you can see how the difference of color of skin was marked and the restrictions they had for daily life. Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan is uncomfortable with her social circle's racist attitudes toward their maids and decided to do a compilation of stories to let everybody know what was happening.



  1. Mandela

Based on South African President Nelson Mandela's autobiography, which chronicles his early life, coming of age, education and 27 years in prison before becoming President of South Africa and working to rebuild the country's once segregated society.


  1. Sarafina

The plot centres on students involved in the Soweto Uprising, in opposition to the implementation of Afrikaans as the language of instruction in schools.

The character Sarafina (Leleti Khumalo) feels shame at her mother's (Miriam Makeba) acceptance of her role as domestic servant in a white household in apartheid South Africa, and inspires her peers to rise up in protest, especially after her inspirational teacher, Mary Masombuka (Whoopi Goldberg) is imprisoned. 


  1. Colors of heaven


Here is presented a love story in Apartheid times where problems were arising in South Africa. The plot of the movie is about a compilation of events that show the oppression of the citizens. Moral decisions, friendship, romance, and fight for the rights can be words that describe this movie.
